- Abstract: The file discusses a letter received from the General Department, Foreign Office relating to the operation of radio stations in the Persian Gulf, including the frequencies that such stations could be operated on and the regulations to be followed in registering frequencies and call signs. Also included is correspondence with political authorities and organisations in the Persian Gulf to compile a central register of all short wave frequencies in use.Further correspondence relates to a request from Petroleum Concessions Limited (Basil Henry Lermitte) for authorisation to install VHF (very high frequency) sets at their offices in Sitra [Sitrah] and Muharraq.A series of file notes which were maintained as a record of the correspondence in the volume can be found at folios 29-30.Physical description: Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1 and terminates at the back cover with 32; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is also present in parallel between ff 2-28; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled, and are located in the same position as the main sequence.
