- Abstract: This file contains correspondence between British officials regarding the Shaikhdom of Abu Dhabi and its ruler, Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Topics discussed in the file include the dynamics of power in the Shaikhdom, Shaikh Shakhbut's perceived 'discourtesy' to British officials and arms purchases made by him.The correspondence in the file is primarily between the Political Agency in Bahrain, the Political Residency in Bushire and the Residency Agent in Sharjah.
