Abstract: Copy of a letter from HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, in Tehran, to Major-General Sir William Grant Keir, commanding the British expedition to the Persian Gulph [Persian Gulf], of 5 March 1820. Willock congratulates Grant on his ongoing efforts against the al-Qawasim and their allies, and on the signature of treaties with the ‘Arab Chiefs’ following the British attack on Ras-il-Khyma [Ra’s al-Khaymah], and expresses his doubts regarding the possibility of a joint invasion of Bahrein [Bahrain] by Persia and the Imaum [Imam] of Muscat.The letter was enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 7 March 1820 (see IOR/L/PS/9/68/241), which was received on 13 July 1820.Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
