Abstract: A translation of an official note from the Umeen ud Dowlut [‘Abdullāh Khān Amīn al-Dawlah], Second Minister of Persia [Iran], to Henry Willock, HM Chargé d’Affaires in Persia, dated Tehran, 13 March 1824.The note asks for an explanation for British proposals to transfer responsibility for diplomatic relations between Persia and Britain to the British Government in India, and states that an envoy from India will be received by the Governor-General [Prince-Governor] of Fars and not the Shah.The translation was enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the Court of Directors of the East India Company dated 14 April 1824 (IOR/L/PS/9/69/174).Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
