- Abstract: A copy of a note from Henry Willock, HM Chargé d’Affaires in Persia [Iran], to the Ameen ud Dowleh Dowlut [‘Abdullāh Khān Amīn al-Dawlah], Prime Minister of Persia, sent from Tehran and dated 14 March 1824.The note concerns the proposed transfer of responsibility for diplomatic relations between Persia and Britain to the British Government in India. Willock claims that the proposal was made in response to requests by the Shah [Fath-‘Ali Shāh Qājār] and Prince Royal [‘Abbās Mīrzā, Crown Prince] for his dismissal, and to complications highlighted by the issue of delayed subsidy payments to Persia. The note was enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the Court of Directors of the East India Company dated 14 April 1824 (IOR/L/PS/9/69/174).Physical description: 1 item (3 folios)
