- Abstract: This item consists of copies of correspondence, minutes, and consultations cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. These political letters appear in IOR/F/4/2416/130506. It is the seventeenth in a series of twenty-eight items on the Persian Gulf. The correspondents are: the Government of Bombay and Lieutenant-Colonel Samuel Hennell, Resident in the Persian Gulf.The item concerns a gift of a colt sent to Hennell from Bahrein [Bahrain] by Sheik Mahomed ben Saeed [Shaikh Muḥammad bin Sa‘īd], the head of the Boo Guwareh [Bū Kuwwārah] tribe. The colt was sold, and Hennell seeks the sanction of the Government of Bombay for the disbursement of the money raised.The item contains a table of contents (f 610), and the title page (f 609) contains the following references: ‘Dft.
