Abstract: This item consists of a copy of a Political Despatch from the Government of India Foreign Department to the Secretary of State for India, dated 27 February 1874 and received by the India Office Political Department on 23 March 1874. With reference to the letters from the Resident at Aden, noted within, forwarding a copy of a letter to the Bombay [Mumbai] Government regarding affairs at Maculla [Mukalla] and 'Bunder Broom' [Bandar Burum], and approving the Treaty entered into with the Jemadar of Shuhur [Ash Shihr] for the abolition of the slave trade at that port.Physical description: Foliation: the foliation sequence for this description (used for referencing) commences at f 392, and terminates at f 394, as it is part of a larger physical volume; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
