Abstract: Correspondence of the East India Company (EIC) with the Levant Company related to the right to trade at Bussorah [Basra, also spelled as Bussora]. The correspondence includes a copy of a letter to Mr Henry Grenville, His Majesty’s Ambassador at Constantinople [Istanbul]; copies of extracts from the EIC’s charters and several acts of Parliament dated between 1600 and 1743, in support of its rights to trade in the East Indies [the Islands of Southeast Asia, and parts of East Asia], other parts of Asia and Africa; and copies of several paragraphs of the Levant Company’s Charter granted by King Charles II in 1661.Physical description: 1 item (15 folios)
