Abstract: A copy of a letter from Brigadier-General John Malcolm, Envoy of the Supreme Government of India to Persia [Iran], to Lord Minto, Governor-General of Bengal, sent from a camp near Shirauz [Shirāz] and dated 6 May 1810. The letter concerns: Malcolm's arrival and reception in Shirauz and meeting with local officials, including the Prince-Governor of Fars and his Vizier, Mahomed Nubbee Khan [Mohammed Nabī Khān Shirāzī]; the mission of Sir Harford Jones, British Envoy Extraordinary, also present in Persia; and Malcolm's plans to proceed to Teheran [Tehrān].Part of the letter is written in code and has not been deciphered.Physical description: 1 item (8 folios)
