- Abstract: The volumes consists of original correspondence sent to and copies of letters sent from the Bushire Residency; the principal correspondents being Samuel Hennell, Resident in the Persian Gulf, the Secretaries to the Government at Bombay and Her Majesty's Consul at Muscat.The main subjects covered are the relations with and between the rulers in the Arabian Coast, mostly in Guttur [Qatar] and Bahrain, and piracy.Physical description: Foliation: the foliation is in pencil, in the top right corner of each folio. The numbering in the first volume starts on the first folio of writing with 1,1A,1B,1C,1D; then 2-100; 101A, 101B and then it carries on until 148, which is the last number given to the last folio of the first volume. The second volume starts on the first folio of writing with 149 and carries on until 300, which is the last number given to the last folio of the volume.Pagination: there is also an original pagination sequence across both volumes: 1-230; 230A-435.
