- Abstract: The volume consists of Administration Report of the Persian Gulf for the Year 1939(Simla: Government of India Press, 1940); Administration Report of the Persian Gulf for the Year 1940(Simla: Government of India Press, 1941); and unpublished, typescript Administration Reports of the Persian Gulf for the years 1941, 1942, 1943, and 1944.The Reports contain an introductory review of the year by the Political Resident, and separate reports on each of the constituent agencies, consulates, and other areas of the Political Residency, such as Bushire and Hinterland, Fars, Kerman, Bandar Abbas, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Muscat. The Reports give information on British personnel; British interests; local administration; military and naval matters; aviation; political developments; manumission; trade and commerce; medical matters; meteorological data; communications; oil; and notable events.Physical description: Foliation: the foliation system in use commences at 1 on the front cover, and continues through to 460 on the back cover. The sequence is written in pencil, enclosed in a circle, and appears in the top right hand corner of the recto page of each folio. Four additional partial foliation sequences are present alongside the main sequence between ff. 72-147, ff. 148-259, ff. 261-356, and ff. 358-455: these numbers are also written in pencil, are circled but crossed out, and can be found in the same position as the main sequence.
