Abstract: This file contains papers which record the numbers of the last coded telegrams sent each year between 1931 and 1947. These details are captured on draft papers and official telegrams sent between HM Minister at Kabul and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. The coded telegrams from the Foreign Office to Kabul are referred to as 'Forminka' telegrams (a name derived from a combination of letters from the words 'Foreign', 'Minister', and 'Kabul'), whereas those sent from Kabul to London are referred to as 'Katodon' telegrams (a name created using letters from the words 'Kabul' 'to' and 'London').Physical description: Foliation: the foliation sequence for this description commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 37; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
