- Abstract: The file contains papers related to the security and maintenance of the Bushire-Shiraz-Isfahan Road, and discussion over whether a British supervising engineer should be dispatched to manage and supervise repairs. It also contains a few reports about a visit by the Soviet Consul for Isfahan, Mr Martchenko, in February 1945.The main correspondents are the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf (Sir Charles Geoffrey Prior) and HM Ambassador to Iran (Sir Reader William Bullard). The file also contains input from the British Consuls at Shiraz (Herbert George Jakins) and Isfahan (Charles Alexander Gault), the India Office, and the Government of India.There are no papers in the file for 1944.The file includes a divider which gives a list of correspondence references contained in the file by year.
