Abstract: The file contains correspondence between the Aden Chief Commissioner (Bernard Reilly), the India Office, the Colonial Office, and the Government of India Finance Department, regarding financial and treasury arrangements in the event of the transfer of Aden to the Colonial Office.The correspondence concerns Reilly's suggestion that a Treasury Officer be appointed at Aden, to oversee the budget and the Salt, Excise and Income-tax departments. Correspondence dated from 1937 concerns the return of the Reserve Currency Chest to the Government of India.
