Abstract: The file contains correspondence from the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf to His Majesty’s Secretary of State for India regarding the ‘Defence Regulations made under the Persian Gulf States (Emergency) Order in Council 1939’. The regulations apply in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Muscat and Oman. The file also contains a report on a visit to Iraq made by the Head of the Middle East Intelligence Centre between 12 and 15 October 1939.
