Abstract: This file contains correspondence regarding the diplomatic representation of the United States in the Gulf. Specifically, much of this correspondence discusses the extent of the jurisdiction of the United States Consul in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and whether it should be expanded to encompass Qatar, Oman and the states of the Trucial Coast.Physical description: Foliation: the main foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the front cover with 1, and terminates at the inside back cover with 13; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio.
