Abstract: This item consists of copies of correspondence and resolutions cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Governments of Bombay and Bengal. The principal correspondent is the Government of Bombay.The main event discussed is the consolidation of the Political Residency at Muscat and the Commercial Residency at Bushire [Būshehr] in the person of Nicholas Hankey Smith following the death of the previous Resident at Muscat, William Chichely Bunce. Stephen Babington and James Williams have been appointed as his assistants, and the assistant to the Civil Auditor and the Deputy Accountant-General have provided the accounts of Muscat 1805-09.
