Abstract: Translation of a letter from the Grand Vizier of the Shah of Persia [Iran], Meerza Sheffee [Mirza Muḥammad Shafī‘ Māzandarānī], to the Persian Minister Plenipotentiary to the Porte [Ottoman Empire], Meerza Ameen [Mirza Amin]. The letter concerns the arrival of the Persian Ambassador to France, Askar Khan [Askar Khan Afshar], at Constantinople [Istanbul], accompanied by a French Envoy named Georges Outrey (see IOR/L/PS/9/68/72). Meerza Sheffee instructs Meerza Ameen to distance himself from the French envoy, and to discontinue all contact with French subjects, on account of the relations between Persia and England [Britain].The letter was enclosed in HM Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Persia, Sir Harford Jones’s secret letter of 14 September 1810, which was received on 6 February 1811.Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
