Description:
Abstract: Copy of an official note from HM Chargé d'Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, in Tehran, to the ministers of the Court of the Shah of Persia, of 28 December 1819. The note is in reply to the ministers’ note of 27 December 1819 denying the British the right to include ports on the Persian coast as targets in their expedition to the Persian Gulph [Persian Gulf] to attack the al-Qawasim and their allies (see IOR/L/PS/9/68/220). Willock communicates that the British expedition will direct its operations only against those on the Persian coast independent of the authority of the Persian Government. The note was enclosed in Willock’s letter to Major-General Sir William Grant Keir, of 29 December 1819 (see IOR/L/PS/9/68/219).Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
