Abstract: Translation of a firman [order] from the Prince of Shirauz [Shiraz], to Major-General Sir William Grant Keir, which was received at Ras-ul Khyma [Ra’s al-Khaymah] on 9 January 1820. The Prince affirms Keir’s previous request for cooperation with the British expedition to the Persian Gulf to attack the Joasmee [al-Qawasim] and their allies, and communicates the assembling of an army and fleet between himself and the Imaum of Muskat [Imam of Muscat] to attack Kongoon [Kangān]. The firman also requests that Keir supply ships to transport an army to Bahrein [Bahrain].This translation was enclosed in Keir’s letter to HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, of January 1820 (see IOR/L/PS/9/68/232).Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
