Abstract: A copy of a letter from Henry Willock, HM Chargé d’Affaires in Persia [Iran], to Dr John Cormick, Chief Physician to the Prince Royal [‘Abbās Mīrzā, Crown Prince] of Persia, sent from Tehran and dated 16 October 1824.Willock asks Cormick to read the Prince Royal an enclosed message (IOR/L/PS/9/69/228) regarding the proposed transfer to India of responsibility for diplomatic relations between Britain and Persia.The letter was enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the Court of Directors of the East India Company dated 18 October 1824 (IOR/L/PS/9/69/222).Physical description: The letter was perforated in an attempt to stop the spread of disease.
