Abstract: Copy of dispatch No. 13 from HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, at Camp Sultanieh [Solţānīyeh], to the Governor-General of India, Lord Amherst, of 23 July 1825. The letter reports Willock’s conversations with the Prince Royal, Abbas Mirza [Crown Prince of Persia, 'Abbās Mīrzā Qājār] concerning an offer by Willock for the provision of British officers and non-commissioned officers to train the Prince Royal’s soldiers, and originally enclosed a list of the Prince Royal’s requests with regards to military assistance (not included in this item). Willock also reports his views on an alleged Russian offer to provide troops to serve as a guard for the Prince Royal.This document was originally enclosed, numbered 5, in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 10 September 1825 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/39).Physical description: 1 item (4 folios)
