Abstract: The translation of a letter from the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Persia [Iran], Mirza Abul Hussun Khan [Mirza Abu'l-Hasan Khan Shirazi], to HM Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, George Canning, of 24 May 1826. In the letter Mirza Abul Hussun Khan reiterates that the Shah of Persia [Fath-‘Ali Shāh Qājār] had awarded the Order of the Lion and the Sun to HM Chargé d’Affaires to Persia, Henry Willock, for his services to the Persian army, and indicates the Shah’s and his own approbation for Willock’s conduct, upon Willock’s replacement by the East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir.This document was originally enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 28 August 1826 (IOR/L/PS/9/70/120).Physical description: 1 item (3 folios)
