Abstract: Translation of a letter from Abbas Mirza [Crown Prince of Persia, ʿAbbās Mīrzā Qājār] to the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir. The letter concerns the negotiations for peace in the war between Russia and Persia [Russo-Persian War, 1826-1828]. Abbas Mirza indicates that he is anxious to learn about the conference held between Macdonald Kinneir’s assistant, Captain John Campbell, and ‘the Russian General’ [General Ivan Fyodorovich Paskevich-Erivansky, Governor-General of Georgia], about which he is aware Macdonald Kinneir has received letters from Campbell.
