Abstract: Transcript of a letter from the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, to the Prince Royal, Abbas Mirza [ʿAbbās Mīrzā Qājār, Crown Prince of Persia]. Macdonald Kinneir indicates that he has received a report that the servants of the King [Fatḥ-‘Alī Shāh Qājār, Shāh of Persia] are not allowing the money owed in reparations to Russia as part of the peace treaty to end the ongoing war [Russo-Persian War, 1826-1828] to proceed beyond Miana [Mianeh], and requests Abbas Mirza to direct the King’s men to take the money to Tabriz without delay.This document was originally enclosed, numbered 5 in enclosure No. 5, in Macdonald Kinneir’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 16 March 1828 (IOR/L/PS/9/71/201).Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
