- Description:
- Abstract: Translation of a letter from the Moatemud Doulat [Mīrzā ‘Abd al-Wahhāb Nishāṭ Iṣfahānī, Mu‘tamid al-Dawlah] to the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir. The Moatemud Doulat reports that he has ordered the money residing at Kasvin [Qazvin] for the payment of reparations to Russia as part of the peace treaty ending the war between Russia and Persia [Russo-Persian War, 1826-1828] to be sent to its destination, and indicates that the remainder will soon be sent to Kasvin, accompanied by Captain Volkoffsky [Vladimir Dmitriyevich Volkhovsky]. He also indicates that the troops at Miana [Mianeh] and Zunjan [Zanjan] should quit those towns, to ensure that all appearances of hostility between Russia and Persia should cease. This document was originally enclosed, numbered 2 in enclosure No. 6, in Macdonald Kinneir’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 16 March 1828 (IOR/L/PS/9/71/201).Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
