- Abstract: Translation of a letter from the Moatemud Dowlut [Mīrzā ‘Abd al-Wahhāb Nishāṭ Iṣfahānī, Mu‘tamid al-Dawlah] to the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir. The Moatemud Dowlut reports the movements of Dr John McNeill and a courier from the Shah of Persia [Fatḥ-‘Alī Shāh Qājār], who bear information for Macdonald Kinneir. He also expresses the approval of the Persian Government for Macdonald Kinneir’s actions during the negotiation of the peace treaty to end the war between Russia and Persia [Russo-Persian War, 1826-1828], and indicates that they trust Macdonald Kinneir’s ability to ensure that the matter is concluded in a satisfactory fashion. This document was originally enclosed, numbered 4 in enclosure No. 6, in Macdonald Kinneir’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 16 March 1828 (IOR/L/PS/9/71/201).Physical description: 1 item (2 folios)
