Description:
Abstract: Translation of a letter from Meerza Abdool Wahab [Mīrzā ‘Abd al-Wahhāb Nishāṭ Iṣfahānī, Mu‘tamid al-Dawlah] to the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir. Meerza Abdool Wahab confirms the receipt of Macdonald Kinneir’s letter reporting that the latter has returned to Tabreez [Tabriz], and on account of this and the movements of Prince Abbas Meerza [ʿAbbās Mīrzā Qājār, Crown Prince of Persia], indicates his hope that the treaty of peace ending the war between Russia and Persia [Russo-Persian War, 1826-1828] will soon be signed. This document was originally enclosed, numbered 6 in enclosure No. 6, in Macdonald Kinneir’s letter to the Secret Committee of the East India Company of 16 March 1828 (IOR/L/PS/9/71/201).Physical description: 1 item (1 folio)
