Abstract: Dispatch No. 36 from the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, to the Secret Committee of the Court of Directors of the East India Company, sent from Tabreez [Tabriz] and dated 5 October 1828.Macdonald Kinneir forwards various correspondence to the Secret Committee (catalogued as IOR/L/PS/9/71/263-296). The letter also covers: the movements of the Count of Erivan [Yerevan] [General Ivan Fyodorovich Paskevich-Erivansky, Governor-General of Georgia]; the state of affairs in eastern Persia, in particular a rebellion in Kermaun [Kerman]; and Macdonald Kinneir’s efforts to secure the evacuation of Russian troops from Khoie [Khoy].Attached is a list of the correspondence originally enclosed.Physical description: The letter was perforated in an attempt to stop the spread of disease.
