- Abstract: A translation of a ruckhum [raqm, chancery letter] from Abbas Meerza [‘Abbās Mīrzā Qājār], Crown Prince of Persia [Iran], to the East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, dated Mohurrum [Muharram 1244]/July-August 1928.The letter relates to the abrogation of the third and fourth articles of the Definitive Treaty, which concern British subsidies and military aid to Persia. Abbas Meerza expresses the hope for a new arrangement between Britain and Persia to replace the treaty articles, stressing the need for continued ties with Britain in light of recent events.
