- Abstract: This item consists of part seven of the subject file 4613/1919 Iraq: Land Tenure. It concerns British land policy in the occupied territories of Mesopotamia [Iraq], particularly in relation to arrangements for a proposed British military cantonment in the vicinity of Baghdad.The correspondence discusses the selection and purchase of suitable land, particularly the question of whether the land should be purchased by the British civil administration or by the War Office.
