- Abstract: Enclosures nos. 3-6 to dispatch no. 10 from the Secret Department, Bombay Castle, dated 12 April 1861. The enclosures are dated 22 February to 6 April 1861. Received 6 May 1861.The enclosures consist of reports from Captain Felix Jones, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, and copies of resolutions of the Honourable Board. The papers include a report on a tour of the Arab coast by two British warships under Commander Charles Cruttenden, Senior Naval Officer, Persian Gulf, which included an investigation into matters at Debaye [Dubai] and Rasool Khymah [Ra's al-Khaymah]. There is also a report by Jones on the effect of slow communications between India and the Persian Gulf. The Resident states that delays of up to three months in receiving official intelligence were making it difficult to correct exaggerated local reports of British reverses.Physical description: 1 item (9 folios)
