The correspondents are: the Government of Bombay; Major Samuel Hennell, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; and Commodore John Croft Hawkins, Senior Naval Officer in the Persian Gulf. It is the forty-ninth in a series of fifty-one items on the Persian Gulf.The item concerns Hawkins’s investigation into complaints by Bahman bin Sudda [Bāman bin Sādh bin Amardās] against Khojah Hiskael [Khawājah Ḥizqīl bin Yūsuf], British Agent at Muscat.
