Abstract: An extract of a letter from Harford Jones, Resident in Bagdad [Baghdad], to Peter Tooke, Agent of the East India Company in Constantinople [Istanbul], dated 23 November 1801.The letter concerns attempts to transport cowpox samples to India for purposes of inoculation against smallpox.
