- Abstract: This part of the volume consists of copies of enclosures to a despatch from the Government of Bombay Secret Department to the Secret Committee, Number 62 of 1840.The enclosures are dated 10-20 August 1840. They consist of correspondence relating to the gift of four horses to the Queen of the United Kingdom from the Imam of Muscat in connection with the ratification of the Commercial Treaty signed in 1839. The horses were conveyed from Muscat to Bombay [Mumbai] on Honourable Company Ship Cleopatraand thence to England. They were accompanied to Bombay by the Imam of Muscat’s agent, Aga Mahomed Rahim Shirazee [Āghā Muḥammad Raḥīm Shīrāzī].Correspondents include: the Superintendent of the Indian Navy; the Secretary to the Government of India; the Resident in the Persian Gulf; and the Imam of Muscat.Physical description: 1 item (9 folios)
