- Abstract: This part of the volume consists of a copy of an enclosure to a despatch from the Government of Bombay Secret Department to the Secret Committee, Number 18 of 1840, dated 30 April 1840. The enclosure is dated 29 April 1840.The papers relate to the expenses incurred on account of Captain Robert Cogan’s mission accompanying HE Syed Ali bin Nasser [‘Alī bin Nāṣir al-Ḥārithī], Envoy Extraordinary from HH the Imaum [Imām] of Muscat to HM Government. The papers include a detailed statement of the expenses of Captain Cogan, ‘HM Commissioner and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Court of HH the Imaum of Muscat’. Expenses included passage by the ship Atalantafrom Suez to Bombay and from there by HC Brig Tapteeto Zanzibar.The correspondents are the Accountant General and the Chief Secretary to the Government of India.Physical description: 1 item (4 folios)
