Abstract: This file is divided into two volumes. It consists primarily of diplomatic correspondence from the Foreign Office in London to the governments of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and South Africa. The content of the correspondence is primarily concerned with Germany's annexation of Austria in early 1938, and are primarily intelligence reports and updates on the diplomatic situation unfolding in Europe, and the British official pronouncements on it.Physical description: Foliation: this file consists of two physical volumes. The foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the inside front cover with 1 (ff 1-144) and terminates at the inside back cover of volume two (ff 145-286); these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. The letter concerns a communication received by Meerza Buzurg [Mīrzā 'Isa Khān Farāhānī], Vizier to the Crown Prince of Persia, from Sturmer [Ignatz von Stürmer], Austrian Internuncio at Constantinople [Istanbul], enclosed.The enclosed letter, sent from Pera [Beyoğlu] and dated 20 December 1810, expresses hope for renewed political and commercial relations between Austria and Persia.
