Abstract: The volume contains two parts (items): IOR/L/PS/10/687/1 and IOR/L/PS/10/687/2.Both parts consist of papers relating to financial arrangements for the acquisition of currency for the payment, by the British Government, of Russian troops in Persia [Iran], and the associated difficulties and issues arising. The events take place in the context of a massive depreciation in the value of the rouble [ruble] and occur after the commencement of the Russian Revolution in February 1917, and during and after the October Revolution 1917.Each part includes a Political and Secret Department divider which gives the subject number and part number, the year the subject file was opened, the subject heading, and a list of correspondence references contained in that part by year.
