Abstract: This item consists of copies of correspondence, minutes, and consultations cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. These political letters appear in IOR/F/4/2174/105546. It is the sixth in a series of forty-five items on the Persian Gulf. The correspondents are the Government of Bombay and Major Samuel Hennell, Resident in the Persian Gulf.The item concerns an attack on two ships from Karrack [Jazireh-ye Khark, also referred to as Kharg in the item], carried out on the coast opposite the village of Khirrah [Kherreh], and Hennell’s concern that the Government of Persia is not doing enough to deal with such attacks. One of the ships belonged to the East India Company Pilot Hajee Yacoob [Ḥājjī Ya‘qūb].
