Abstract: This item consists of copies of a Political Despatch from the Government of India Foreign Department to the Secretary of State for India, dated 6 November 1874, forwarding, for the information of HM Government, a copy of papers regarding the measures taken to obtain reparation from the El-Jafferah [al Ja‘farah] ‘a sub-tribe of Arabs’, for the ‘outrage’ committed by them on British Indian subjects at Hillaneeah [Al Hallaniyah], one of the Kooria Mooria Islands [the Khuriya Muriya Islands]. The Despatch is in continuation of Political No. 142 of 4 August 1874 (IOR/L/PS/6/120, ff 58-74).Physical description: Foliation: the foliation sequence for this description (used for referencing) commences at f 20, and terminates at f 33, as it is part of a larger physical volume; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. The sequence contains two foliation anomalies: f 20a and f 21a.
