- Abstract: The file concerns the decision of Shaikh Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifah [Ḥamad bin ‘Īsá Āl Khalīfah], Ruler of Bahrain, on his own initiative to prohibit the import of goods from Italy, and the response to that decision of British officials. 10. ‘File 13/26 Refusal of Trading Facilities to inhabitants of Socotra & Mahris: Establishment of Landing Ground at Qishn’

- Abstract: The file contains correspondence relating to trading restrictions being placed upon the inhabitants of Al-Mahra [incorrectly written in some parts of the file as Manris; Al-Mahra is in present-day Yemen] and Socotra, in response to the authorities of Qishn refusing the British Government permission to construct an aircraft landing ground in their territory. A telegram (f 3) followed by a letter (ff 5-7) from the (Officiating) Chief Commissioner at Aden, Lieutenant-Colonel Morice Challoner Lake, both dated 4 February 1933, announce the imposition of the trading restrictions. The letter gives further details of the efforts of Royal Air Force representatives to establish a landing ground at Qishn, the resistance met from authorities, and the threats made against trading facilities for the inhabitants of Mahra and Socotra.A further telegram (f 9) from Lake to the Political Resident announces that the Qishn authorities have withdrawn opposition to the landing ground, resulting in the lifting of trade restrictions. - Abstract: This file contains correspondence between British officials regarding their attempts to enforce a blockade of Kuwait and to regulate all of its imports and exports. Much of the correspondence also relates more broadly to British-Kuwaiti relations and to the attitude of the ruler of Kuwait, Shaikh Sālim al-Mubārak Āl Ṣabāḥ.A memorandum compiled by Robert Edward Hamilton, the British Political Agent in Kuwait and entitled 'Situation in Kuwait' is contained on folios 25-35. This memorandum discusses the political situation in Kuwait and the British authorities' rationale for enforcing a blockade.On folios 131-138, the file contains a report written by the British Political Agent in Kuwait, Percy Gordon Loch entitled 'Report on institution and working of the Blockade at Kuwait'. 12. 'File V/11 Clearance Papers for Sailing Craft Leaving Bahrain'

- Abstract: This file contains correspondence between the British Political Agent at Bahrain; the British Political Resident in the Persian Gulf at Bushire; ‘Abd al-Ḥusayn, the interpreter of the British Political Agency at Bahrain; Jāsim al-Chirāwī; Shaikh ‘Īsá bin ‘Alī Āl Khalīfah, ruler of Bahrain; and Seth Rao Sahib Tirathdas Maharaj, Director of Customs at Bahrain.
