The positions applied for consist of: farrash/farash [ferash], peon, nokhoda [nakhoda], launch driver, office boy, and any post. The papers also include a letter of resignation from a sweeper, certificates of good character (references), papers concerning disciplinary matters, office orders, medical certificates issued by The American Mission Hospital, notes, personal comments on applicants, and roster of farashes, July 1944. Many of the letters are written and signed in Arabic.
