- Abstract: This item consists of copies of correspondence, minutes, and consultations cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay. These political letters appear in IOR/F/4/2174/105546. It is the tenth in a series of forty-five items on the Persian Gulf. The main correspondents are the Government of Bombay and Heskeal bin Yusoof [Khawājah Ḥizqīl bin Yūsuf], Acting Native Agent at Muscat.The item mostly concerns reports of the arrival in Muscat of notable people, or their messengers, and their reception by Syud Thooenee [Sayyid Thuwaynī bin Sa‘īd Āl Bū Sa‘īd]. A recurring topic is the activities of Saad bin Mootluk [Sa‘d bin Muṭlaq al-Muṭayrī] at Braemee [al-Buraymi] and the plans of local people and certain Gulf rulers to oppose him.
