Abstract: This item consists of copies of a Political Despatch from the Government of India Foreign Department to the Secretary of State for India, dated 2 January 1874, forwarding a copy of a letter from the Political Agent in Turkish Arabia [Ottoman Iraq], in which he reports that the [Ottoman] Governor-General of Irak [Iraq] has written to the Commander of the Force at Nejd [Najd] directing him to 'show proper respect' to the British Officers engaged in the survey operations on the Kateef [Qatif] Coast and to lend them aid if necessary.
