- Abstract: This volume contains copies of the weekly Meshed [Mashhad] Intelligence Summary; the weekly consular diary of Britain's Consul in Khorasan; and the weekly consular diary of the Consul for Sistan and Kain.These reports contain details related to regional political and military developments including the movement of Russian forces, news of the First World War, events in Afghanistan and 'Russian Turkistan' as well as the Russian Revolution of 1917.The reports also discuss local outbreaks of violence, crime, and internal political developments in Persia including the appointment of government officials and their movements/activities as well as news regarding an influenza epidemic in Persia.Physical description: Foliation: the foliation sequence commences at the first folio with 1 and terminates at the last folio with 556; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. The foliation sequence does not include the front and back covers, nor does it include the two leading and ending flyleaves. A previous foliation sequence, which is also circled, has been superseded and therefore crossed out.

- Abstract: This part contains papers relating to proposed military operations against the rebel khans of the Bushire hinterland. It includes papers regarding: an offer from Soulet-ed-Dowleh, the Ilkhani of the Kashgai tribe, of co-operation in clearing the Bushire to Shiraz road; the payment of subsidies to Soulet-ed-Dowleh for his assistance in the maintenance of order in Southern Persia; proposed action by Daria Begi [Dariya Begi or Darya Begi] against rebel khans; and the effect of the Russian Revolution (the February Revolution of February/March 1917) on Persia.The papers largely consist of the following:India Office Minute Papers.Telegrams between the Secretary of State for India and the Viceroy of India, Foreign Department.Correspondence between the India Office and the Foreign Office.Copies of correspondence between the Foreign Office and the Treasury, and between the Foreign Office and Sir Charles Murray Marling, HM Minister, Tehran.Copies of telegrams forwarded to the India Office by the Foreign and Political Department of the Government of India.Physical description: 1 item (109 folios)

- Abstract: The volume contains papers (mainly correspondence and India Office minute papers) relating to the Bakhtiari [Baḵtīārī] tribe and Bakhtiari territory in Persia [Iran]. The papers largely concern the proposal to raise a force of gendarmerie, or Levy Corps, under British officers in the Bakhtiari territory, to settle potential incidents of ‘collision’ between Russian troops and Bakhtiaris. These papers include correspondence regarding the decision to postpone the Levy Corps scheme, following the Russian February Revolution of 1917, until the general political and diplomatic situation became clearer.
